From the beginning, Kid Chocolat know his taste for films. After a first ep dedicated to Peter Sellers, the musician composed a tribute to the italian horror master, Dario Argento. his first album released in 2002 called Life And Death Romano Poal and was the story about an imaginary musician and producer. Recently he tried to make the zombies dance in a funky ballroom with his album Zombiparti! He released in 2007 in collaboration with video artist Pascal Greco a double feature prject including a DVD and an original soundtrack called Super8°. He created and run his own label Poor Records and he released a few album of swiss emerging artists such as Love Motel, POL and many others. He also compiled several swiss and french artists in a tribute album to Stephan Eicher and his band Grauzone.
Kaleidoscope is Kid Chocolat's third personal album. It revisits Northern Soul and psychedelic pop from the 60s. Kid Chocolat affixes to its references a pop electronic filter and replaces the use of the sample by real instruments. He works with many vocal collaborations throughout the album such as Tahiti 80, Land Of Bingo, Love Motel, Puma Mimi, Luz...
